BELMONT vs. BELMONT EXTRA SUAVE

After more 11 years of litigation, the Chamber of the Administrative Tribunal of the National Court of Justice issued its final decision on November 10, 2009 resolving to reject the complaint filed by BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO COMPANY e INVERSIONES PLURIMARCAS C.A.
The Chamber accepted the cassation recourse filed by Dr. Alejandro Ponce Martínez, as attorney in fact of PHILIP MORRIS PRODUCTS S.A. and ratified the administrative act issued by the National Director of Industrial Property, whereby the registration of trademark BELMONT EXTRA SUAVE applied by BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO COMPANY e INVERSIONES PLURIMARCAS C.A. was rejected.
