Merck Sharp & Dohme (Inter American) Corp. (MSD) against Second Civil Judge of Quito and judicial officer

In the case to claim damages, filed by Merck Sharp & Dohme (Inter American) Corp. (MSD) against the Second Civil Judge of Quito and the judicial officer of said judge, the President of the Provincial Court of Pichincha accepted that the witnesses proof and depositions proof take place in an oral way, this is that the questions be made orally and not in writing for both parties. This case is handled by Dr. Marcelo Santamaría from Directum law firm, together with some lawyers of our firm, who are again managing the principal case filed by Nifa S.A. against MSD which, in first instance, was resolved by the above mentioned Judge condemning MSD to pay US$200.000.000 in view of a failed negotiation for the sale of an industrial plant which price was US$1.500.000.
